Tips til plejepersonale
Gennemtestede praksisser til at opbygge vaner, motivation og fremskridt over tid.
Tips til plejepersonale
1. Let the user explore freely — there are no wrong taps.
2. Model communication by building sentences together before expecting independent use.
3. Start with the Basics tab. Once comfortable, introduce other category tabs one at a time. The Recents tab fills automatically.
4. Use a smaller grid size (3 columns) for beginners, then increase as confidence grows.
5. Keep sessions short and positive. Celebrate every successful communication attempt.
6. Consistency matters — place the device in the same spot and use it during the same daily routines to build habits.
Samarbejde
Communication grows best when everyone around the person is involved. Key supporters include:
• Family Members: Use the app during daily routines at home — meals, getting dressed, playtime — so it becomes a natural part of life.
• Teachers / Educators: Bring the app into classroom activities, group work, and social time so the person can participate fully.
• Carers / Assistants: Keep the app accessible throughout the day and encourage its use during transitions and free time.
Talk regularly with each other about which words are used most, what new vocabulary might help, and what is working well. A quick weekly chat keeps everyone on the same page.
Daglig integration
Embed app use into everyday routines for maximum impact:
• Morning routine: Greetings, choosing clothes, breakfast choices.
• Mealtimes: Requesting food/drink, commenting on taste, saying "more" or "all done".
• Play / Leisure: Making choices, commenting, requesting turns.
• Outings: Naming places, people, or things encountered.
• Bedtime: Retelling the day, choosing a story, saying goodnight.
The device should be accessible at all times — treat it as the individual’s "voice". Removing or restricting access is equivalent to telling a speaking person they cannot talk.
