Custom symbols

Add personal photos, record voiceovers, rename, and hide symbols so the board fits the person.

Add your own photos

In Caretaker Settings, open "My symbols" to add personal photos for important people, places, and objects. Personal pictures are easier to recognise than generic illustrations and make the board feel like the user’s own.

Record voiceovers

Open "Customise symbols" to record a familiar voice for any symbol. A parent or sibling’s voice can dramatically increase engagement, especially for younger communicators.

Rename or hide symbols

Symbols can be renamed to match the words the family already uses ("nana" instead of "grandma"), or hidden entirely if they’re not relevant. Hidden symbols never appear on the board but can be brought back from "Hidden symbols" any time.
