Caretaker settings
Tune the board for the person you support — grid size, layout, display style, and kiosk mode.
Accessing settings
Settings are hidden to prevent accidental changes during use. To open the Caretaker Settings screen, quickly tap the small lock icon in the top-left corner of the board 4 times within 2 seconds. A math gate can also be enabled in settings for an extra layer of protection.
Grid size
The symbol grid can display 3, 4, or 5 columns. Fewer columns mean larger buttons that are easier to tap — ideal for users who are still developing coordination. More columns fit more symbols on screen at once. Adjust this in Caretaker Settings.
Board layout & display style
In "Board" settings, choose between vertical category tabs on the side or horizontal tabs along the top. The display style can be set to image + label, image-only for visual learners, or large-text mode for emerging readers.
Message history
The app saves the last 20 spoken sentences. You can review them in Caretaker Settings under "Message History". This helps caretakers understand what the user has been communicating throughout the day. History can be cleared at any time.
